Spear began exhibiting her paintings in 1997 at regional, national and international shows held in the U.S. In 2002, Spear had her first one woman exhibit at Tiffin University in Ohio.

During a recent and extended “personal sabbatical” from studio art Spear has had opportunities to spend time with her grandchildren, travel, study, participate in the production of a mosaic mural and to participate as a member of Eric Bransby’s Color Lab team, mixing pigment for the Fine Arts Center’s 75th Anniversary mural in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Spear lives with her cat, Lucy in Colorado Springs, Colorado in a turn of the century house and works in her recently secured second-floor studio on the “West Side” in a 1902 School house studio near the foot of Pikes Peak.
