TRACY MILLER

My Contemporary Western Expressionist paintings are based on my love of the West. My Mom encouraged the artist in me and my Dad exposed me to the great outdoors instilling a love of the land and wide open skies. I truly learned to slow down and appreciate nature.

I grew up riding horses and camping in our National Parks, and animals in nature are my passion. My subject matter is primarily animals of the west, done in bold brushstrokes and bright colors. The paintings start as pure abstract expressionism, integrating emotion and movement through color and shape. The animal reveals itself to me in the process of applying paint. I then refine the details that make the animal immediately recognizable, capturing it's essence and spirit.

Bold, expressionistic and colorful are just a few of the words used to describe Tracy's Contemporary Western paintings of animals of the west. Studio visits welcome by appointment. Tracy is also represented by Wilde Meyer Gallery in Scottsdale and Tucson.
